Genesis 1:14-20

New Living Translation (NLT)

14 Then God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them be signs to mark the seasons, days, and years. 15 Let these lights in the sky shine down on the earth.” And that is what happened. 16 God made two great lights—the larger one to govern the day, and the smaller one to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set these lights in the sky to light the earth, 18 to govern the day and night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.

19 And evening passed and morning came, marking the fourth day.

On the 4th day of creation, God created one of our most photographed wonders, the ever-persistent sunrises and sunsets. For thousands of years, and in millions of places, people have been enjoying these wonderful events. Today we see the sunlight being refracted in the clouds to neat orange hues just beyond the other RV’s in the park we are in. Wherever we are, hardly a week goes by that we are not awed by the God’s creative powers displayed in the natural light shows at the beginning and end of the day. Don’t forget to look for the light show coming to a sky near you!  To find sunsets one must go out where he can see the sky just before dusk, and look away from his iPhone.
